Michael Roeland Earns Honors in Swimming and Diving

Michael Roeland of Newark, NY, led SUNY Delhi's men's swimming and diving team at the Herkimer County Community College Distance Swimming and Diving Invitational (NJCAA) held on November 17, 2012.

Roeland (Midlakes HS 2011) broke Delhi's previous record in the 200-yard butterfly with a new school record of 2:29.64, in which he placed third. The former record was held by Shannon Mulwane with a time of 2:35.45, set back on February 20, 1999. Mike was also second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.73, which is his personal best, dropping over 1.27 seconds.

Roeland is a SUNY Delhi student pursuing an associate's degree in architectural technology.

SUNY Delhi's outstanding facilities have attracted the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship, and the NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championship. The Clark Field house features the Floyd L. Maines Arena, the CADI Fitness Center, and a mini-dome. The college's athletic facilities also include the Kunsela Hall Aquatics Center, The College Golf Course, an eight-lane 400-meter outdoor track, playing fields, racquetball/handball courts, and indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
