SUNY Delhi Announces Degrees in Baking and Pastry Arts

Delhi is the only SUNY institution to offer a bachelor's degree in this major.

Delhi, NY (12/13/2021) — SUNY Delhi is proud to announce the launch of two new undergraduate degrees: a two-year associate degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, and a four-year bachelor's degree in Baking and Pastry Arts Management. SUNY Delhi is the only SUNY institution to offer a bachelor's degree and one of only a few to offer an associate degree in this major. Applications are open now for Fall 2022 enrollment.

"SUNY Delhi's Baking and Pastry Arts degrees build upon our long-standing tradition of excellence in culinary and hospitality education," said Dr. David Brower, dean of the School of Business and Hospitality Management at SUNY Delhi. "Graduates of these programs can look forward to exciting careers in this in-demand segment of the hospitality industry."

The 2-year program offers training in specialized baking and pastry skills, while the 4-year program dives deeper into the industry for leadership and managerial roles. Qualifying students have the option to complete the third and fourth years entirely online, providing flexibility for working professionals, career changers, and students who are unable to attend classes in person to earn their degree.

Baking and pastry arts graduates can pursue careers in the industry as bakery owners, pastry chefs, baking instructors, and cake designers, among others.
