SUNY Delhi Announces Updates to Programs in Criminal Justice and Human Resource Management

The new application options provide flexible entry into the program.

Delhi, NY (03/10/2021) — SUNY Delhi is pleased to announce updates to the enrollment and availability for its bachelor's programs in Human Resource Management and Criminal Justice. The changes will provide more flexible entry into the programs.

SUNY Delhi's Human Resource Management bachelor's program is now available to students in a fully online format. SUNY Delhi is the only SUNY institution to offer a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management online. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 10,000 job openings for human resource professionals are projected each year over the next decade with a median annual wage over $115,000 for individuals with this degree. Preferred applicants for this program should have an associate degree in business, although applicants with other associate degrees with relevant coursework or 60 college credits with related coursework will also be considered.

SUNY Delhi's Criminal Justice bachelor's program is now open to new, first-year applicants and transfer students. Applicants were previously required to have a relevant associate degree, such as SUNY Delhi's Criminal Justice Studies degree, or 60 college credits with related coursework. A bachelor's degree in criminal justice can lead to diverse careers in law enforcement, corrections, criminal investigation, social work, law, or research. The job outlook for occupations within the criminal justice field is expected to grow faster than average over the next decade, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Students interested in a career in law can take advantage of SUNY Delhi's exclusive 3+3 articulation agreements with Albany Law School and Western New England School of Law, which allow students to earn both a bachelor's and juris doctor law degrees in six years, resulting in significant savings on one year of costs and fees for law school.

According to SUNY Delhi Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management Robert Piurowski '02, the enhancements to the programs are a result of listening to current and prospective students and modifying the admission requirements to meet their needs.
