SUNY Delhi is proud to welcome nearly 1,200 new students who enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester.

SUNY Delhi's hot food student team took first place at the prestigious 2025 American Culinary Federation (ACF) Student Team of the Year national competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. The championship team included captain Brennan Spencer (Painted Post, NY); Sarthak Thapa (Delhi, NY); Moses Rojas (Bronx, NY); Matthew Caliendo (Massapequa, NY); and Derik Cole (Big Flats, NY). Jahnasia Sutton (New York, NY) and Joseph Kariuki (Worcester, MA) supported the team as apprentices. The students were coached by Chef Victor Sommo and Chef Sean Pehrsson, who guided the team through hundreds of hours of practice and preparation.

Six students completed in the Region 1 Associated Schools of Construction Heavy Civil Construction Management Competition in November 2020.

SUNY Delhi celebrated the graduation of nearly 800 students at the commencement event held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, where certificates, associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees were conferred upon the classes of Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. Over 800 students graduated from SUNY Delhi in the Spring of 2024. Commencement was held Saturday, May 18, 2024, with certificates, associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees conferred upon the classes of Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. The Office of Student Life and the O'Connor Center for Community Engagement at SUNY Delhi held the annual Citizenship Award Ceremony in May. The awards recognize outstandingn students and student organizations who demonstrate the qualities of a good citizen, including a sense of responsibility to the campus and local community and a belief that acting for the benefit of others is right and good, regardless of self-recognition for such action.

Top-performing SUNY Delhi students were inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society in a recognition ceremony on campus in April. The inductees fulfilled all requirements for membership and were selected based on their dedication to scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service. The Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society is the third oldest university honor society in the US. Its mission is to award students for achieving high scholastic performance. SUNY Delhi students must achieve a cumulative GPA 3.50 and maintain full-time enrollment in a four-year program to be invited into the society.

Top-performing SUNY Delhi students were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society in a recognition ceremony on campus in April. The inductees fulfilled all requirements for membership and were selected based on their dedication to scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year academic programs. To be eligible for membership, a student must have completed at least 12 hours of associate degree coursework with a cumulative 3.5 GPA.

SUNY Delhi's Honors Program recognized graduating students during a reception in March. The Honors Program provides high-achieving students opportunities to challenge themselves intellectually, create mentoring relationships with faculty members, and gain recognition for their scholarly work. To participate in the program, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and complete a required number of honors courses.

SUNY Delhi's Honors Program presented an elite group of students with the competitive Dennis Callas Honors Program Scholarships during a reception last month. A total of $4,000 was awarded to eligible students. SUNY Delhi's Honors Program provides high-achieving students opportunities to challenge themselves intellectually, create mentoring relationships with faculty members, and gain recognition for their scholarly work. Students enrolled in the program must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and complete a required amount of honors courses. To be eligible for the Callas scholarship, students must be in good judicial standing and submit an original personal essay.

SUNY Delhi's Student Life Division recognizes a group of outstanding students who exemplify leadership, service, and scholarship and contribute to enhancing the campus community. Established in 2001 to honor the legacy of Barbara Jones, former Vice President for Student Life at SUNY Delhi, the Student Life Award celebrates students who make a lasting impact at SUNY Delhi.

Three SUNY Delhi students majoring in criminal justice had the opportunity to participate in Model Senate in Albany last weekend to learn more about the New York State legislative process. Senior students Suroyya Lomax-Williams, Christopher Nicholson, Nicole Vasquez, and their advisor, Laura Pehrsson, spent a weekend in the intensive leadership development program. SUNY Delhi was one of only six SUNY campuses invited to the prestigious event. During Model Senate, the students were each assigned a Senator and their district with access to the Senate Chamber, where they sat at the Senators' desks. The topic for the session was the Affordable Housing Act. The students also attended a luncheon with SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr., CUNY Chancellor Felix V. Matos Rodriguez, Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, and other distinguished guests. To conclude the experience, the students attended the SOMOS Conference and Gala on Saturday evening, where Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James gave speeches.

SUNY Delhi's end-of-the-year athletics banquet on May 6 celebrated 2023-24 student-athletes and their accomplishments both on and off the field. Awards were presented to Delhi Scholar-Athletes of the year, Athletes of the Year, and team leaders chosen by individual coaches.

Awards were presented to Delhi Scholar-Athletes of the year, Athletes of the Year, and team leaders chosen by individual coaches. The past academic year featured many moments of success and growth within all athletic programs. Between 15 different teams, the Broncos boast five North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship appearances (women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, men's lacrosse, and men's soccer), three NAC championships (women's soccer, men's basketball, and men's cross country), and the first two NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division III tournament appearances in team sports (women's soccer and men's basketball).

SUNY Delhi is proud to recognize three deserving students with the President's Awards for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion. The awards are given to students who have made exceptional contributions to promoting an inclusive campus community and creating an environment where everyone is respected and valued.

The O'Connor Center for Community Engagement at SUNY Delhi recently recognized graduating seniors who have demonstrated sustained commitment to meaningful community service during their time on campus. The students received community service cords to wear at graduation. They will also be recognized at commencement.

Two students were given the 2021 Aspiring Community Service Champions Award by the O'Connor Center for Community Engagement, recognizing their service to the greater Delhi, NY community.

SUNY Delhi architecture students' talents are on display this week at Bushel Collective in Delhi. From architectural drawings and designs in various materials to kites and wind studies, the exhibit shows the variety of projects the students have been working on this semester. The opening reception was held this past weekend and the exhibit will be up until Sunday, April 28. The SUNY Delhi Division of Student Life held its annual leadership award ceremony on April 10, 2024. Several students were recognized for contributing to the campus community, overcoming obstacles, or exemplifying the values of the Student Life Division. Over 40 SUNY Delhi student-athletes were selected for academic excellence as part of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Fall All-Academic Team. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic impacting or cancelling competitive seasons, the 12-member conference boasted a record total of 770 academic recipients. While the NAC traditionally recognizes fall sports for its fall academic list, the league included all sponsored sports that conducted practice or competitive seasons during the fall semester in the wake of these challenging times. The conference academic list recognizes all student-athletes who participated in fall practice/competition and possess a cumulative GPA above a 3.5.
