Delhi, NY (08/19/2024) — SUNY Delhi welcomes new students for orientation week on Monday, August 19. The 2024-25 incoming class consists of over 1,400 new students, which is the largest cohort of newly enrolled students in the college's history, beating the previous peak year of 2017.

"We are thrilled to continue our strong enrollment trend this fall with this new record-breaking class of students," said SUNY Delhi President Mary Bonderoff. "SUNY Delhi occupies a unique niche in the higher education landscape with hands-on learning and in-demand degrees. Many of our students have career aspirations that link directly to the needs of New York State. Our academic programs are meeting their expectations with an outstanding education that sets them up for success. Going forward, we will continue to work hard to invest in cutting-edge programs and exceptional opportunities for our students."

Delhi's new students were selected from a pool of nearly 9,000 applicants. Over 1,100 of the undergraduate students are residential and commuting students, while 240 are enrolled in online programs. Additionally, 60 students are pursuing graduate degrees. Geographically, the incoming class represents 54 New York counties, 12 U.S. states, and four countries outside of the U.S. The most popular majors at SUNY Delhi this year are nursing, veterinary science technology, electrical construction, and biology.

During Welcome Week Orientation, new students attend academic sessions and social events to prepare them for a successful start to their college journey.

Returning students will move in the weekend before classes begin Monday, August 28, bringing the total number of students at SUNY Delhi to over 3,000.
