SUNY Delhi Honors 2026 Alumni Award Recipients and Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

Seven outstanding alumni were recognized for achievements in professional leadership, service, and athletics.

Delhi, NY (09/27/2026) — SUNY Delhi celebrated seven outstanding alumni with its 2026 Alumni Awards and Athletic Hall of Fame honors, recognizing achievements in professional leadership, service, and athletics, as well as continued connections to SUNY Delhi.

Four recipients were honored with 2026 Alumni Awards: Distinguished Alumnus Geovanny Osorio '89, Alumni of Merit Julie Hall '12 and Antoine Noble '13, and Exemplary Service Award recipient Chef Victor Sommo '01. Don Peterson '84, Nicole Welcome '14, and Jennifer (Gregory) Williamson '04 were inducted into the SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame.

"I'm incredibly proud of the lives and careers our alumni have built and how far they've taken their Delhi education," said SUNY Delhi President Mary Bonderoff. "This year's honorees have distinguished themselves through professional achievement, service, leadership, and athletic excellence, and they continue to make a difference in their professions and communities. It is an honor to recognize their accomplishments and the many ways they represent the very best of SUNY Delhi."

Distinguished Alumnus: Geovanny Osorio '89

Geovanny Osorio '89, a graduate of SUNY Delhi's architectural technology program, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award, SUNY Delhi's highest alumni honor. After Delhi, Osorio earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and went on to build an accomplished career in architecture and project management. His leadership roles have included Chief Architect for the Houston Airport System and senior project management positions with the City of Houston. Throughout his career, he has helped lead multimillion-dollar projects of public and institutional significance, including the Baylor College of Medicine Research Facility, the City of Houston Animal Shelter, and structural improvements to Houston's historic Miller Outdoor Theatre. Osorio also gives back to the next generation through design programs for Houston-area high school students and has remained connected to SUNY Delhi through student and alumni networking events.

Alumna of Merit: Julie Hall '12

Julie Hall '12, a graduate of SUNY Delhi's nursing program, received an Alumna of Merit Award for her accomplishments and leadership in healthcare. Hall currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Mohawk Valley Health System after years of progressive leadership at Bassett Medical Center, where she ultimately served as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Services. She is pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Case Western Reserve University and remains connected to SUNY Delhi through the Nursing Academic Advisory Committee and as a guest speaker for nursing students and at the Nursing Pinning Ceremony.

Alumnus of Merit: Antoine Noble '13

Antoine Noble '13, a graduate of SUNY Delhi's business technology management program, received an Alumnus of Merit Award for his work creating opportunities for young people in the Bronx and surrounding communities. Noble is the founder and executive director of We Got Next Sports, a nonprofit that combines athletics with mentorship, social-emotional learning, academic support, and personal development. Along with fellow SUNY Delhi alumni Kevorn Willet, Luis Rosario, and Chris Small, Noble also operates She Got Next, an all-girls initiative focused on sports, mentoring, confidence-building, and leadership development for elementary and middle school girls.

Exemplary Service Award: Chef Victor Sommo '01

Chef Victor Sommo '01, a SUNY Delhi culinary arts graduate and longtime faculty member, received the Exemplary Service Award for his exceptional commitment to students and the college. A Certified Executive Chef and SUNY Delhi instructor since 2009, Sommo has coached culinary students to numerous regional, national, and international honors, including ACF national championships in 2010, 2012, 2025, and 2026. His hands-on mentorship has helped build SUNY Delhi's reputation as a national leader in collegiate culinary competition, while his involvement in alumni and family events and the hospitality profession has made him a dedicated ambassador for his alma mater.

2026 Athletic Hall of Fame

The SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes former Bronco student-athletes whose accomplishments and contributions have left a lasting mark on SUNY Delhi athletics.

Don Peterson '84 - Wrestling

Don Peterson '84 distinguished himself in both athletics and academics as a SUNY Delhi wrestler and electrical construction student, earning Academic and Athletic All-American honors. A two-time wrestling All-American, Peterson captured the Region III championship and placed third nationally in 1985. He has remained connected to Delhi by helping establish the SUNY Delhi Wrestling Alumni Association and supporting students and graduates through mentorship and connections to the electrical construction industry. Peterson has also coached and supported youth athletics and devoted more than 40 years to serving his community as a firefighter and emergency services officer.

Nicole Welcome '14 - Women's Soccer

Nicole Welcome '14, a recreation and sports management graduate, made an immediate impact on the SUNY Delhi women's soccer program, earning Mountain Valley Conference First Team honors as a first-year student before being named NJCAA Region III Most Valuable Player as a sophomore. That season, Welcome ranked second nationally in NJCAA Division III with 32 goals and helped lead Delhi to the first Region III championship in program history, scoring the overtime game-winner in the title match. Today, she is a physical education teacher and coach, mentoring student-athletes in soccer, softball, basketball, and track and field.

Jennifer (Gregory) Williamson '04 - Cross Country and Track & Field

Jennifer (Gregory) Williams '04, a veterinary science graduate, was a standout in both cross country and track and field, earning NJCAA Division III Cross Country All-American honors in 2002 and 2003 as well as All-Region III and All-Mountain Valley Conference recognition. In 2003, she was named a SUNY Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete for Cross Country, and in 2004 earned another All-American honor as a member of SUNY Delhi's NJCAA Division III national championship 4x800-meter relay team. Today, Williams is a veterinarian practicing small-animal medicine in the Rochester area.

"Our honorees reflect the diversity of opportunities SUNY Delhi offers our students and remind us that there is no single path to success," said Diana Pollard, Vice President for College Advancement. "Their success gives our students powerful examples of where their own Delhi experience can take them and shows the lasting impact of staying connected through leadership, mentorship, and creating opportunities for others."
