SUNY Delhi Nursing Professor Named SUNY AI for the Public Good Fellow
Marjorie Reilly is one of 11 faculty and staff members from across the SUNY system chosen for the fellowship.
Delhi, NY (09/16/2026) — Marjorie Lalor Reilly, associate professor of nursing at SUNY Delhi, has been selected for the second cohort of the State University of New York's AI for the Public Good Fellows.
Reilly is one of 11 faculty and staff members from across the SUNY system chosen for the fellowship, which supports the responsible and ethical integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and learning. Fellows represent a range of disciplines and will build on the work of the inaugural cohort, with a focus on helping faculty explore how AI can be effectively incorporated within specific academic disciplines. Fellows will provide professional development resources and support to colleagues across the SUNY system.
"Marjorie's selection for the AI for the Public Good Fellowship is a well-deserved recognition of her expertise as an educator and her commitment to exploring new approaches to teaching and learning," said SUNY Delhi Provost David Brower. "As artificial intelligence continues to shape higher education and the professions our students are preparing to enter, her work will help advance the responsible and effective use of these tools in teaching and learning."
Reilly has more than 15 years of experience in nursing education and currently teaches in SUNY Delhi's online RN-to-BSN program. A SUNY Delhi alumna, she earned both her BSN and MSN from the college. She previously participated in SUNY's AI4Learning Network pilot and has been proactive in exploring how artificial intelligence can be meaningfully integrated into nursing education.
"Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming part of the healthcare landscape, making it increasingly important that we prepare students to understand both its possibilities and its limitations," said Reilly. "I'm excited to collaborate with colleagues across SUNY to explore thoughtful, responsible ways to incorporate AI into nursing education while keeping critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and quality patient care at the center."
SUNY is expanding AI literacy across its curriculum. Beginning in fall 2026, SUNY's general education framework has been updated to incorporate AI into the information literacy skills expected of all undergraduate students. SUNY has also launched a systemwide community of practice to support faculty in integrating discipline-specific AI-enabled skills into student learning outcomes.
