SUNY Delhi Receives $500,000 State Investment to Support Student Success, Affordability, and Workforce Development
Delhi, NY (06/12/2026) — SUNY Delhi will receive $500,000 in new Direct State Tax Support through the 2027 New York State Budget as part of a statewide $54 million investment in public higher education. Announced by Governor Kathy Hochul, the State Legislature, and the SUNY Board of Trustees, the funding maintains the statewide freeze on resident undergraduate tuition and supports student support initiatives across SUNY's 29 state-operated campuses.
Since 2023, SUNY Delhi has received more than $4.1 million in recurring state support through these annual investments, helping the college expand student services, maintain affordability, and strengthen its impact across the Southern Tier region.
"We are incredibly appreciative of the state's continued investment in SUNY and in SUNY Delhi," said SUNY Delhi President Mary Bonderoff. "The tuition freeze allows New Yorkers to continue pursuing affordable, high-quality educational opportunities while benefiting from exceptional student support. At SUNY Delhi, we are already seeing remarkable results from programs like ASAP|ACE and the Empire State Service Corps, which provide students with guidance, resources, and real-world experiences that enhance their education and career readiness. These investments are essential to helping our students succeed in high-demand fields while strengthening New York's workforce and economy. That's what makes SUNY campuses like Delhi such powerful engines of opportunity. We are grateful to Governor Hochul, Chancellor King, and the State Legislature for their continued commitment to public higher education."
The state's investment complements SUNY Delhi's long-term mission to strengthen workforce development, including a $32 million Applied Technology Facility, expected to open in 2030. Supported by the SUNY Construction Fund, the facility will expand hands-on education and training opportunities in high-demand technical fields and help prepare graduates for careers that are critical to New York's economy.
