Delhi, NY (02/04/2026) — Nazely Kurkjian, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment and Strategy at SUNY Delhi, has been selected as a fellow in the 2026 SUNY Disability Support Leadership Institute. Kurkjian is one of 29 fellows from across the SUNY system to participate in the prestigious year-long leadership development program.
Fellows are selected through a highly competitive process focused on demonstrated leadership experience, professional achievement, and a strong commitment to advancing higher education through service and inclusive excellence. Designed for faculty and staff on a leadership trajectory who are committed to supporting student success, the program engages fellows in cohort-based learning, mentorship, and leadership development activities throughout the academic year.
"Nazely's selection for the SUNY Disability Support Leadership Institute reflects her strong commitment to student success throughout her career within SUNY," said SUNY Delhi President Mary Bonderoff. "At SUNY Delhi, she has brought a thoughtful, strategic approach to leadership, and we are proud to see her work recognized at the system level."
"I am deeply humbled to be selected for this fellowship and grateful to SUNY Delhi President Mary Bonderoff and Provost David Brower for their support and encouragement to pursue this meaningful opportunity," Kurkjian said. "As an individual with disabilities, I am acutely aware of the barriers persons with disabilities face in navigating higher education. I applaud SUNY for remaining steadfast in its commitment to access, equity, and inclusion, and I'm excited for the journey in this fellowship."
Kurkjian has worked within the SUNY System for over 10 years. Her expertise and advocacy have led to increased funding for students with disabilities and the establishment of SUNY's Electronic & Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility policy.
