Early College Gen-Ed Program for High School Students Offered at SUNY Delhi

Program gives students an opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school

by Riikka Olson

Delhi, NY (01/22/2021) — SUNY Delhi is excited to offer a new online Early College Gen-Ed Advisement Program that allows high school students the opportunity to complete college-level coursework that counts toward any SUNY college's general education requirements. Taught by SUNY Delhi professors, the courses offer students a jump start on earning college credits while still in high school. Classes are taught online and begin February 1, 2021.

The program is open to high school juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 80. Completed credits will transfer to all SUNY colleges as well as most private colleges.

Though all eligible high school students will benefit from the Early College Gen-Ed Advisement Program, the opportunity is particularly advantageous to those interested in science, sustainable practices, and environmental protection. Participation in this program offers students a guaranteed acceptance to SUNY Delhi's associate degree in Environmental Studies or bachelor's degree in Sustainability which can lead to early college graduation.

Going forward, the Early College Gen-Ed Advisement Program will be offered every semester.
